Description

Star Wars - The Pirates of Tarnoonga: A Droid Adventure Page 16 and 17 Book Illustration from the Studio of Alice Carter (Lucasfilm/Random House, 1986). Adapted from the Star Wars: Droids episode "The Pirates of Tarnoonga," this is a spectacular original book illustration for pages 16 and 17 of The Pirates of Tarnoonga: A Droid Adventure. A cult classic among Star Wars fans, Star Wars: Droids aired in 1985, following the exploits of R2-D2 and C-3PO between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. This is an excellent group shot featuring an LO-KD57 sail barge, boarded by Jessica Meade, R2-D2, C-3PO, Jann Tosh, and Kybo Ren and his pirates. The book was written by Ellen Weiss with this illustration from the studio of Alice Carter. This piece is rendered masterfully in gouache on board with an acetate linework overlay. It measures an overall 18.75" x 13", and shows minor handling and edge wear from normal studio use. Tiny tears in the acetate edges, and some taping in corners. The condition of this excellent find is Very Good.
