Star Wars Droids: Pirates of Tanooga Book Unused Art by Alice Carter (Random House, 1986). This original Star Wars Droids: Pirates of Tarnooga artwork by Alice Carter captures an intense moment from the beloved 1986 Random House children's book. The illustration depicts Thall Joben, C-3PO, and R2-D2 aboard a skiff, facing imminent peril as menacing pirates attempt to cast them into the clutches of a monstrous sea creature. The dramatic composition, set against a stormy sky with massive clouds and soaring birds, enhances the tension of the scene. Crafted in mixed media on illustration board, the piece measures 22.875 inches by 19 inches and includes an inked translucent overlay, taped at the top and lower corners, reflecting the intricate production process behind the book's artwork. The illustration exhibits handling wear along the edges and corners, with scratching, scuffing, staining, and slight discoloration, consistent with its use in development. Adding to its authenticity, the back upper right corner features a "Studio of Alice Carter" sticker, signed by the artist herself.
