Description

The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1956), Group of (5) Collar Necklaces. Vintage original group of (5) collar-style necklaces including (1) metallic mesh collar woven with gold-toned seed beads, tassel trim, and blue, purple, turquoise, and orange painted plastic beads, (1) nude mesh collar with gold-toned rope trim, red and salmon painted wooden tube beads, navy round wooden beads, hook-and-eye closures, and leather backing with handwritten "D. Gump" bias label, (1) gold gimp trim woven collar with red wooden tube beads, blue and orange plastic beads, green wooden teardrop trim, and hook-and-eye closures, and (2) nude mesh collars woven with metal chain-link and cream painted wooden tube beads that also created the hanging fringe trim. The collar necklace with gold-toned tassel trim was attached to a gold cloak worn by Bithia (Nina Foch) when she reunited with Moses (Charlton Heston) and joined the Hebrews in their exodus from Egypt. The red and navy wooden necklace is worn by one of Nefretiri's (Anne Baxter) slaves (Diane Gump) in multiple scenes when she is helping the Queen dress. The remaining necklaces were worn by one of the many background actors throughout the film. Each necklace exhibits production wear and age including worn mesh, tearing, fraying and chipped paint. Bithia's necklace has a tear along the mid-section. One of the cream necklaces has a strand of fringe that is broken and the beads are included separately. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
