The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1956), Pair of Character/ Costume Concept Artworks by John Jensen and Ralph Jester. Vintage (2) character/ costume concept artworks rendered in gouache and graphite on art board measuring 15" x 20". (1) richly detailed portrait of "Taskmaster at Brickpits" (Larry Chance) brandishing a coiled whip, by John Jensen. Sketch features the character name at upper right corner plus other production notations along upper margin, and the artist's signature is at lower right with "#2". Plus, (1) detailed portrait of "High Ranking Officer (6)" by (undecipherable signature) under the supervision of Ralph Jester, whose is in lower left. Both works are red-pencil OK'd by DeMille on recto lower right. Numerous recto and verso production notes and stamps include sign-off OKs by Albert Nozaki (art dept.), Loyal Griggs (D.P.), John Fulton (visual effects), production manager Frank Caffey and art director Walter Tyler. White fabric swatch attached to upper left corner of the latter work.. Artwork exhibits production and exhibition wear and handling, including toning, light staining, and mounting tape remnants on verso edges. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
