The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1956), Fortunino Matania Pair of Costume Sketches. Vintage pair of costume sketches by Fortunino Matania rendered in graphite including (1) "Sethi, Pharaoh of Egypt" (Cedric Hardwicke) costume sketch on artist vellum measuring 8.75" x 11.75" and (1) Young Rameses (Yul Brynner) costume sketch, signed by the artist, on art paper measuring 9.75" x 14.75". Matania's "Rameses" sketch features precise costume and accessory annotations along with smaller sketches of his scepter and headpiece. A notecard is included featuring the production annotations (which are difficult to read). Artworks exhibit production wear, toning, tearing, and pin holes. The "Rameses" sketch exhibits considerable edge wear and edge tearing with a torn lower left corner. Notecard is torn. Both pieces exhibit tape remnants on back from previous framing. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
