Description

Samson and Delilah (Paramount, 1949), Pair of Concept Artworks. Vintage pair of concept artworks including (1) "Tax Collector" concept painting by Ken Reid rendered in mixed media on art board measuring 16.5" x 13.25" and (1) "Tax Collectors" storyboard with shot annotations (artist unknown) rendered in gouache and photo collage on art board measuring 30" x 20". Artworks detail the first scene in the "tax collector" montage, where a family of Danite sheepherders are "taxed" by Philistine soldiers in an attempt to find the "fugitive" Samson. The detailed storyboard art reflects the camera movement and framing of the completed scene. Both pieces retain original annotations in graphite. Artworks exhibit production wear including staining, scratching, and edge wear. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
