Description

Stuart Little 2 (Columbia Pictures, 2002), "Stuart Little" Hero Rebuilt "Salvaged" Biplane. Original "rebuilt" hero biplane from the second film of the Stuart Little franchise. The biplane plays a pivotal role in Stuart's daring rescue mission. Originally a model aircraft co-built by Stuart and his brother George, the plane is accidentally destroyed early in the film. Later, Stuart discovers the wreckage aboard a garbage barge and ingeniously rebuilds it using salvaged materials. The yellow and red trim biplane is constructed out of resin, electrical cables that run across the wings, tinfoil that is held together with an industrial clamp, and a green oversized plastic hair comb which serves as the horizontal stabilizer. The propeller is connected to an electric motor that was designed to rotate after Stuart started the plane's engine (electronics untested). The biplane measures approx. 24" x 28.5" x 10". Also includes (1) color production copy of the biplane design art by John Bevelheimer, measures approx. 9" x 13". The biplane exhibits production use, and intentional studio distress. Provenance: From the collection of storyboard/conceptual artist John Bevelheimer, this biplane has never been offered at auction. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
