Description

Korean War-Era U.S. Army Signal Corps Field Switchboard and Radio Transmitter from M*A*S*H (CBS TV, 1972-1983). Leich Electric standard six line telephone communication switchboard model BD-71 and separate radio transmitter model CY-17/TRC-1 built circa the Korean War from mid- to late-1950s and used on the set of the Emmy Award-winning television series M*A*S*H and other productions. Both components are housed in rugged wooden cases with heavy duty clasp closures, integral handles, and the switchboard retains its original heavy canvas shoulder strap. The switchboard has a telephone receiver with 1/4" male connector. Switchboard wooden case measures 17.25" x 14.5" x 9.5" and radio transmitter wooden case measures 21" x 17" 15.5". Wood cases show some scratches and scuffs from production use. Both components are extremely heavy. Electronics have not been tested for functionality. Acquired from Ellis Mercantile prop rental house, and was rented out over and over, to may Hollywood productions over many decades.
