Description

Nat King Cole 1963 Hartford, CT "Sights and Sounds" Concert Poster. An original vintage cardboard window card advertising the legendary Nat "King" Cole on his ambitious "Sights and Sounds" tour at Bushnell Memorial Auditorium in Hartford, Connecticut on Friday evening, October 18, 1963.

Cole toured his Sights and Sounds revue for three straight years, from 1962 through '64. So he was right in the middle of it. This was also the year Nat released his last Top 10 pop hit, and certainly one of his most memorable: "Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer," which peaked at #6 in June.

Ever the cool cat, Mr. Cole looks as suave as can be with his sporting hat, V-neck sweater and cigarette holder - before everyone knew what tobacco could do to you. A heavy smoker his whole life, Nat sadly passed away from lung cancer just a year and a half after this show.

Measures 14" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. A one-inch crease to the upper right corner, with just a spot of white paper missing on the tip; a slightly dog-eared upper left corner; bumped lower corners; crease damage in the lower left yellow area by the word "plus"; a slight surface crease to the right of Nat's hat; and a little bit of printer imperfection in the right margin over from "Sensation" and "Memorial." COA from Heritage Auctions.
