Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (TCF, 1977), X-wing Starfighter Wing. Original model miniature wing from an X-wing fighter, constructed of cast resin. Expertly studio painted and distressed, this starfighter's broken wing is a resulting piece from a pyrotechnic explosion from the ILM visual effects crew. X-wing Starfighters were the primary "Rebel Alliance" space battle fighter against "The Empire". Iconic for their "X" style attack position, and used as "Luke Skywalker's" (Mark Hamill) ship throughout the entire saga. Measuring 7.25" x 4" x .5" and exhibiting age, handling, production use, paint chipping, and a break at the wing base. Provenance: Obtained from the set by Peter Kuran from the miniature and optical effects unit of ILM following production and gifted to visual effects specialist Kevin Kutchaver, who worked on Return of the Jedi and has over 100 film and television credits in the field. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
