Description
The Beatles 1964 Carnegie Hall, New York Concert Program Cover and Page Listing "John McCartney." This lot has two parts of a critically important concert program in the history of the Beatles and Beatlemania itself: their first-ever American program. It was made for their second-ever American show, on Wednesday, February 12, 1964 at New York's esteemed Carnegie Hall. This matted and framed item features the cover of the program, along with the page of an infamous typo (keep reading). The Fab Four received only two pages in this 26-page Carnegie boilerplate program, but that page 10-11 spread is likely the best content of any of their U.S. programs. The right-hand (page 11) is a humorously stilted and formal presentation of the Fabs like they were the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. But the promoters blew it anyway, calling Paul McCartney "John."
Matted and framed (with a plaque in the bottom center portion) to an overall 20" x 16 ½". Does not come with a glass or plexi cover. Grades to Good condition with significant wear and creasing throughout the page with the typo, as well as tape in in the bottom left portion, and some soiling. COA from Heritage Auctions.
