Andy Kaufman Extensive Archive of (100+) Scripts, Manuscripts, Photographs, and Ephemera (ca. 1960s-1980s). Vintage original group of (100+) programs, clippings, memos, correspondence and other Andy Kaufman-related items including (3) related personalized script binders 1- labeled "Van Dyke and Company" containing 15+ pages of handwritten notes for movie concepts including "First Person Camera Movie", "Wrestling Film" and "Mexican Holiday" and song lyrics entitled "Hello Again", 1- Stick Around unsold pilot episode script, and 1- Fridays script. Includes (1) folder of unknown artist pencil concept sketches for Flash Kaufman Conquers the Universe, (1) First Draft script titled Cher...and Other Fantasies", clippings, notices, photos and articles including Andy Kaufman with Special Guest Tony Clifton at Carnegie Hall, trade clipping of Clifton with "Miss Piggy", Andy Kaufman's press kit consisting of a manila envelope stamped "Andy's Press Kit by his Mother, Ms. Stanley Kaufman", containing a Xerox of Clifton with text "your very own fake home photo, PS, this photo may also be crushed and thrown at Tony", and a packet of crushed jelly beans. Also includes show programs, tour date documents, dressing room riders, tickets to The Andy Kaufman Special, loose script pages, concepts, contracts, and memos. Additional highlights include (1) backstage pass to Rodney Dangerfield/Tony Clifton show, (1) silkscreened Tony Clifton tee shirt size "XL", (1) 7 x 5 in. photo of Paramount studio security man handling Clifton, (1) empty bottle of Jack Daniels, Kaufman/Zmuda and Clifton-related magazines including (2) copies of the February 1982 issue of Playboy with page-122 pictorial article on Andy wrestling Playboy model Susan Smith while Zmuda referees, (1) issue of April 1983 Gallery men's magazine, and (1) August 1982 issue of The Wrestler magazine with image on page-15 of Kaufman injured from an encounter with pro wrestler Jerry Lawler. Includes fan mail to Uncle Andy's Funhouse, (1) copy of a 1960 letter to Andy from his Uncle John at Warner Bros. music division congratulating Andy on his summer camp performance in The King and I, while letting him down, in part: "I can't grant your request of doing something with your friend Richard. In the first place, we only handle professional talent and very seldom start a new comer, furthermore, Aunt Florence and I leaving for Europe...". Also included is (1) 1-page typed letter apologizing for not making the 100th anniversary show of SNL due to commitment to managing "Andy Kaufman's Wrestling Farm", (10+) signed and unsigned release forms from women consenting to wrestle Andy, (2) sheets of 5.5 x 8.5 in. personalized Andy Kaufman stationery with "Sunshine Cab Company" logo and (1) matching transmittal envelope, (1) 7-page scrapbook containing clippings and tears including Herb Ritts image of Andy as "Elvis" and a black and white Tony Clifton press photo, (1) Teaneck Tanzi the Venus Flytrap window card for romantic wrestling comedy featuring Kaufman as referee, (1) framed photocopy of Andy working at Jerry's Famous Deli, which hung in the kitchen, and much more.
