Johnny Handsome (Tri-Star, 1989), Mickey Rourke "John 'Johnny Handsome' Sedley" Face Casting Display/Makeup Study Head. Original polyurethane foam face casting of Mickey Rourke as John "Johnny Handsome" Sedley, created as a makeup head study and featuring his prosthetic appliances painted in realistic flesh tones and shading. Casting includes detailed features such as a cleft lip, bulbous nose bridge, and a raised skull/forehead, with punched-in eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Measures approx. 11" x 6" x 5.5". This makeup design was conceived by Michael Westmore for Walter Hill's 1989 film noir-inspired drama about a disfigured gangster who undergoes plastic surgery while in prison and later seeks revenge on those who betrayed him. According to Westmore, Rourke was extremely uncomfortable in the makeup chair, particularly during the face-casting process, where he became claustrophobic. The casting exhibits fading due to age and minor hair loss along the forehead, hairline, and eyebrows. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the Personal Collection of Michael Westmore.
