Set of (2) Hedy Lamarr "Delilah" Costume Sketches by Edith Head for Samson and Delilah (Paramount, 1949). Vintage original (2) costume sketches accomplished in black gouache and ink on 11" x 15" artist's paper leaves by legendary costume designer Edith Head. Depicting variations of bare-midriff biblical period court attire, worn by Lamarr as "Delilah" while divining the secret of Victor Mature "Samson"'s strength, and her sister Angela Lansbury "Semadar"'s wedding. Head's work here garnered the second of her eight career Oscars for Best Costume Design. Each sketch bears Head's production notations, largely erased or crossed out, and are signed by her in lower left. Each also bears verso notations concerning the addition of protective glassine or wax paper for print, etc. Exhibiting age, production handling, bumped corners, and minor age toning around perimeter. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
