A striking pair of production pieces from the height of late-'90s DC collectibles, this Batman and Justice League of America lot contains two original plate image proofs released by Warner Bros. and DC Comics in 1997, created as part of a premium commemorative series that celebrated the legacy of iconic heroes in fine detail. The first is The Batman plate image proof, charting the Dark Knight's evolution from his 1939 debut through 1997. This set includes the full-color HCD (High Color Definition) plate on the left, designed for precision reproduction, and a separate printed piece showcasing the reverse side of the final plate, which details Batman's origin story, mythology, and lasting cultural impact. Marked as the first in the series, the imagery balances vintage comic influences with sharp modern presentation. The second proof honors the Justice League of America, featuring a lineup of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash, all rendered in the rich, realistic style of artist Alex Ross. Alongside the main image plate is a printed mock-up of the reverse side, offering historical notes and background on the formation of the original JLA team.
