Jim Backus "Thurston Howell III" Crème-Colored Dinner Jacket from Gilligan's Island (CBS TV, 1964-1967). "Thurston Howell III" single-breasted shawl collar crème-colored dinner jacket with striped champagne-colored satin lining worn by Jim Backus as the fabulously wealthy character in this beloved desert island sitcom. A big question that has vexed viewers for decades is: "How could Mr. & Mrs. Howell have so much clothing on the island when they initially packed for a 'three-hour tour'?" Thurston Howell wore all manner of casual and formal wear, this summer-smart dinner jacket among them. The jacket bears an internal Western Costume Co. label with the actor's name, size, and job number. The jacket shows only minor signs of use and remains in Very Fine condition overall.
