Royal Quiet De Luxe All Gold Plated (Dreyfuss Model) Typewriter (Royal Typewriter Co. Inc., 1950s). Vintage gold plated portable typewriter constructed of enameled metal and plastic. Includes original black plastic hard case. As a reward for finishing his first draft of Casino Royale, Ian Fleming bought a Royal Quiet Deluxe Portable gold-plated typewriter like this model in 1952 from a New York dealer. His friend Ivar Bryce agreed to transport the gift on his next trip to England. Measures 10.5" x 5.5" x 10.5". Exhibits wear and age including worn paint, tarnished metal on the keys, and overall spotting, scratching and scuffing. Mechanics untested. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
