Description

Kate Winslet "Rose DeWitt Bukater" Iconic Pink Coat from the Sinking Scene in Titanic (TCF, 1997). Original, instantly recognizable bespoke rose wool paneled floor-length coat featuring large shawl collar, oversize satin-lined bell sleeve cuffs and black-threaded, embroidery-covered decorative buttons concealing hook and eye front closure. Ornamented with elegant, black vine hand-embroidery at collar and cuffs. Interior lined in peach satin. Designed by Academy Award winner Deborah L. Scott, the distinctive coat is highly visible when "Rose" (Winslet) rushes below deck of the doomed luxury liner to rescue her ill-fated love, "Jack Dawson" (Leonardo DiCaprio). The interior silk lining exhibits discoloration at the bottom half, a hallmark of exposure to water during the climactic sinking scene. Director James Cameron famously insisted that all physical aspects of his production maintain the highest level of historical accuracy. This meticulous attention to materials, construction and detail wasn't spared on this, or any other of the film's legendary and indulgent costumes. In Very Good Plus production used condition. Includes an LOA from Salvadore Perez, the Costume Manufacturing Foreman on Titanic as well as a COA from Twentieth Century Fox. COA from Heritage Auctions.
