Sandor "The Hound" Clegane (Rory McCann) Hero Longsword from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 4). Original hero longsword measuring 42" x 9", studio-crafted from aluminum with a metal hilt, crossguard, and pommel, and a twine-wrapped handle. This distinctive longsword, in addition to the two-handed sword he carries on his back, is prominently worn on Sandor "The Hound" Clegane's (Rory McCann) belt starting with Season 1. In Season 4, Episode 10, "The Children," he uses it to battle against Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), who attempts to rescue Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) from the weary antihero. "The Hound's longsword was crafted to complement his imposing figure and brutal fighting style," says Tommy Dunne, the weapons master for Game of Thrones. "We wanted the design to reflect his relentless nature, with a rugged and utilitarian look." Rory McCann, who played The Hound, shares, "The longsword felt like a natural part of Sandor. It was perfectly balanced for the character, adding to his menacing presence." Gwendoline Christie, who portrayed Brienne of Tarth, comments on their battle scene: "Fighting Rory with those swords was incredibly intense. The choreography was demanding, but it helped to convey the sheer physicality and desperation of the fight." Stunt coordinator Rowley Irlam notes, "The battle between The Hound and Brienne was one of the most challenging to coordinate. The actors' dedication to mastering the fight sequences made it one of the most memorable battles of the series." Exhibits production wear, scuffing, and oxidation.
