Maquis Fighter Filming Miniature Created for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine but Used in Star Trek: The Next Generation (Paramount, 1987-1994). Original model miniature spaceship constructed of cast resin components, expertly assembled, painted in industrial grays with multi-color and metallic copper accents. There are removable panels including one at top center of the ship, giving access to interior electronics to illuminate the ship (electronics untested). The Maquis Fighter was built specifically for episode, "Preemptive Strike" in Season 7 of Star Trek: The Next Generation by Greg Jein, based on a design by Jim Martin who was not employed by the TNG franchise, but working for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Martin designed the fighter for DS9, but TNG producers appropriated it for use in setting up the Maquis storyline. The 21.25" x 31" x 5" model exhibits age, production wear, and some minor missing pieces. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the Collection of Greg Jein.
