Description

Wacky Packages Sticker Sheet in Framed Display (Topps, ca. 1970s). Vintage original Wacky Packages sticker sheet, featuring approx. (80+) intact peel-and-stick stickers of the satirical, humorous parodies of consumer products that Topps produced in the late 1960s and early '70s. Originally produced as tin-cut trading cards and then as sticker packs, these darkly-comedic spoofs were a play on American consumer products and the consumerist craze of the era. Examples include "Chock Full of Nuts & Bolts" coffee, "6 Up" soda, "Tied" detergent, and "Cap'n Crud" cereal. Designs for the series were created by famed cartoonists and comic artists of the era including Art Spiegelman and Norman Saunders. Sheet measures 23.5" x 35.5" inside a 25.75" x 38" black composite frame. Stickers appear fully intact throughout the sheet, preserved nicely inside frame, with sheet exhibiting moisture damage to majority of surface area. Not examined outside of frame. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From The Stewart Berkowitz Television Treasures Collection.
