Papa's Delicate Condition (Paramount, 1963), Jackie Gleason "Jack Griffith" Pinstripe Pants and Vest. Vintage original (2) piece costume ensemble as worn by Jack Griffith (Jackie Gleason) in the 1963 comedy film, Papa's Delicate Condition, consisting of (1) black wool pinstripe vest with 4- front pockets, waist cinch and black-satin backing, retaining internal Paramount Pictures Men's Wardrobe stamp, and (1) matching pair of black wool pinstripe suit pants with hook-and-eye closure and retaining internal Sy Devore maker's label typed, "Jackie Gleason" and "5-9-62". The picture follows Griffith in his failed attempts to earn his family's love and respect, blinded by his poor decision making and yearning for the next drink. Exhibiting expected age and wear from production handling, including some smudging to the armholes on vest. Provenance: Profiles in History, Auction 19, July 30, 2004, Lot #187.
