Description
The Magic Christian (Grand Films Ltd., 1969), Pair of Oversized Photos of Terry Southern with Ringo Starr and Christopher Lee and (1) Prank Newspaper. Vintage original group of (3) items related to the making of The Magic Christian, including (1) gelatin silver semigloss borderless behind-the-scenes photograph of Ringo Starr wearing an Oxford rowing cap and shaking hands with screenwriter Terry Southern on set, printed on 15" x 11.25" paper with "5281" written in pencil on the verso, (1) 11" x 14.5" doubleweight semigloss behind-the-scenes photograph of director Joe McGrath and Terry Southern playfully attempting to scare Christopher Lee-appearing in his cameo role as the "Ship's Vampire" and dressed in his signature Dracula costume-with a blue Bruce McBroom photographer's wet stamp on the verso, and (1) 23.25" x 16.75" mock newspaper sheet with the satirical headline "Klein Seizes The Magic Christian Negative - Apparently Eats it." All items exhibit creasing, bumped corners, fading, aging, and rippling, the Ringo photo has a corner tear at the bottom, and light water stain and the Lee photo shows a tear at the top right.
