Neil Welliver, Vintage Figurative Watercolor (1966), Gifted to Terry Southern. Vintage original watercolor depicting two red-haired, siren-like women reclining on grass, with a clothed man standing between them in front of a tree. Executed in pencil and watercolor, the composition features expressive color and lush, mythic figures in a forest setting. The artwork measures approx. 31" x 20" and is mounted in a 35" x 26" matte. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Known for his Naturalist style and focus on the human form in nature, Welliver created this piece-closely resembling his "Nudes on the Grass" series and likely featuring the same models-as a gift for his friend, author and screenwriter Terry Southern.
