The Monkees Guitar-Shaped "Monkees" Neon Sign and Gold Record (ca. 1990s). Original large guitar-shaped black housing with red neon tubing in the shape of the instantly recognizable Monkees logo. Used as a backdrop while the band was on tour for their 1996-1997 reunion. The sign is housed in an R & R Cases road case measuring 151.5" x 69.75" x 15.5" bearing numerous stickers including one from the Monkees 30th Anniversary Tour. The 30th Anniversary Tour included Davy Jones, Peter Tork, and Mickey Dolenz for several dates during 1996, with Michael Nesmith rejoining them for UK dates in 1997. Also included is a framed RIAA certified Gold Record Award Presented to David Jones to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the Rhino Entertainment Compact Disc for The Best of the Monkees. The frame measures 25.5" x 23.25" All items exhibit wear and handling. The case exhibits signs of considerable use. Electronics tested and partially operational with some neon tubes not illuminating.
