Included is a detailed assembly of 13 components, showcasing the artistry behind one of cinema's most iconic logo designs. Renowned for his striking and memorable logo creations for the Star Wars saga, Larson provides a unique behind-the-scenes exploration of the design process that has become integral to the franchise's iconic logos. This collection features Larson's (1) original logo sketch in graphite, (1) original inking sample, (1) photostat with annotated vellum overlay for the photo lab for creating the outline version logo. Also included are photostat versions for letter spacing adjustments and reverse imaging, as well as for crafting the "Star Wars" border outlines and various sizes. Mounted on board with sizes ranging from 7.25" x 8" to 12.5" x 8.75" " with the largest mount measuring 18" x 18". Larson's seminal work on this logo distinguished the sequel with its bold, angular aesthetic, embodying the film's darker themes and narrative complexity. This archive not only celebrates Larson's artistic genius and collaboration with fellow graphic designers but also delves into the extensive creative process behind the visual branding of The Empire Strikes Back.
