Description

Pan's Labyrinth (Tequila Gang, 2006), Raúl Monge - Labyrinth Concept Sketch Original Art. A stunning hand-drawn concept sketch for Pan's Labyrinth, labeled "'El Laberinto del Fauno - Vista Aerea Laberinto 2", envisions the labyrinth's winding stone passages, gnarled trees, and mystical architecture-evoking an ancient, otherworldly presence. A key contributor to Guillermo del Toro's visionary masterpiece, Raúl Monge helped define the film's haunting atmosphere, blending myth and reality with striking precision. This aerial view presents the full layout of the titular labyrinth-the enchanted realm where Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) undertakes her mythic trials. The drawing maps essential locations from her journey: the decaying tree where she battles the giant toad, the hidden gateway to the faun's underground kingdom, and the spiraling maze at the story's heart, where fantasy and reality ultimately collide. This sketch is also featured on page 207 of Guillermo del Toro: Cabinet of Curiosities - My Notebooks, Collections and Other Obsessions, further underscoring its importance in the visual development of the film. Rendered in graphite on paper, 16" x 11.5". Signed by the artist vertically on the lower right. Exhibits light handling. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
