The Phantom of the Opera (428-100) Aurora Model Sealed (Aurora, 1963). Still shrouded in its factory cellophane, Aurora's long-box Phantom beckons with the same lurid gothic artwork that once haunted hobby-shop shelves in the early 1960s. the Box still displays the vivid Halloween-green glow of the masked maestro looming over his subterranean lair. Inside rests the unbuilt plastic kit that let young monster buffs recreate Lon Chaney's silent-film terror, complete with crumbling dungeon bars and scurrying rats. Scarce in any condition and rarely encountered unopened, this well-preserved example bridges Universal horror lore and the golden age of modeling-an irresistible center-stage piece for classic monster or vintage Aurora completists.
