G.I. Joe Adventure Team Life-Like Black Adventurer with KFG (Hasbro, 1975). A historically significant release from the Adventure Team era, the Black Adventurer was first introduced in 1974 and became one of the earliest mass-produced African American action figures in the U.S. toy market. This 1975 carded version features the flocked "life-like hair" and Kung-Fu Grip that defined mid-'70s G.I. Joe design, offering kids a more diverse and action-ready take on the classic 12-inch hero. Though the figure shared molds with other Joes of the era, its cultural significance-and limited availability in the vintage market-make it a cornerstone for serious G.I. Joe collectors.

This example remains sealed on its original card, though it shows substantial signs of wear. The card has heavily worn edges, bent and softened corners, and significant creasing-particularly around the corners and hanger area. The bubble has multiple cracks at the top and bottom, with an attempted repair at the top using Scotch tape. The bubble is also beginning to lift from the card along the bottom edge. Inside, the figure's arms and head have become detached, a common issue with aging 12-inch Joes due to internal rubber deterioration. Despite its condition, carded examples of the Life-Like Black Adventurer remain exceptionally difficult to find and are prized for both their rarity and historical value. An important piece in the evolution of diversity in action figures, this offering provides collectors an opportunity to own one of the most culturally meaningful figures in the vintage G.I. Joe line.
