Description
Ziggy Marley's 1987 Steinberger GM1/2T Black Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #N4989.This is the only known guitar that is from Ziggy Marley's personal collection and available for sale. A son of reggae icon Bob Marley, it was professionally modified with a second pickup and a 3 way selector switch (possibly a factory referred modification as the second pickup route matches the same paint scheme as the first), giving this guitar the designation GM1/2T. This guitar serial number is listed in the Steinberger World Directory. Originally sold with Ziggy's signature as a weather damaged guitar from the humid Jamaican environment. Our consigner had this instrument completely restored to player condition using a minimalistic approach to preserve Ziggy's mojo. The frets have minimal wear in the exact spots consistent with Ziggy's music! All the electronics except for the original pickups and control knobs have been replaced with original EMI parts, a few miscellaneous screws were replaced where needed otherwise Ziggy's original screws remain, the TransTrem has new jaws, saddles and registration components that are all original Steinberger. All replaced parts were sourced from Headless USA, Headless Europe and RWB Precision Engineering, Los Angeles. COA from previous auction included. There are holes in the body from various strap button locations. Steinberger hard shell case and original tremolo arm. 6.6lbs. Original hard case included. Condition: Very Good.
