Offered is an exceptional piece of original production artwork used in the creation of Card #139: X-Men from the landmark 1990 Impel Marvel Universe Series 1 trading card set. This vibrant illustration showcases a dynamic lineup of X-Men team members - including Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, Psylocke, Havok, Banshee, Forge, and Sunder - in a classic early-'90s Marvel pose.

The artwork was originally penciled and inked by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, then hand-colored by celebrated colorist Paul Mounts for final production. The image was produced for mass distribution as part of Marvel's officially licensed trading card set - a product that launched the modern era of non-sport card collecting.

This is the original color production artwork, not a reproduction. It is executed in opaque watercolor on board, with a printed linework acetate overlay. The color work by Mounts is fully original.
