Camille (Metro, 1921) Alla Nazimova and Rudolph Valentino 7.5" x 9.5" Original Custom Studio Photograph by Arthur Rice. PSA/DNA Type 1. Vintage gelatin silver matte double-weight 7.5" 9.5" custom studio photograph of Alla Nazimova and Rudolph Valentino in Camille by Arthur F. Rice. Key Set number 103-38 and RICE in India ink on the negative. Adapted from La Dame aux Camélias (The Lady of the Camellias) by Alexandre Dumas, first published in French as a novel in 1848 and as a play in 1852. Natacha Rambova was the film's art director, whom Valentino later married. Rice was employed exclusively by Metro and produced the most distinctive and alluring portraits of Valentino, Nazimova, and Rambova until his passing at 65 on April 17, 1922.
