Description
William A. Brady Jr., Silver Bowl from Cast of 1926 Play The Two Orphans. William A. Brady Sr.'s revival of Adolphe D'Ennery and Eugene Cormon's play The Two Orphans opened at New York's Cosmopolitan Theatre on April 5, 1926, and ran into early May. During this period, his son, William Jr., worked in various capacities for his father, as well as producing theatrical shows on his own. This beautiful, elegant silver bowl, 5" x 8.25", decorated with Angathas leaves was produced in London, England, in 1889. The bottom is engraved "Presented to William A. Brady, Jr./by the stars of The Two Orphans Company/April 17th, 1926". The outside of the bowl, near the top rim, is engraved with the signatures of the following cast members: May Robson, Mrs. Thomas Whiffen, Robert Loraine, Henrietta Crosman, Mary Nash, Florence Nash, Fay Bainter, William Seymour, Robert Warwick, Jose Ruben, Wilton Lackaye, and Henry E. Dixey. A stunning memento from a major Broadway production. In Very Fine condition with minor tarnishing.
