Marilyn Monroe The Misfits Costume Sketch and Swatch. A fantastic 8.5" x 11" costume sketch of a Jean Louis design, colored pencil and ink on drawing paper with a fabric swatch attached, of an outfit worn by Monroe in the 1961 drama -- her final screen appearance. The drawing is by an unknown artist, but is signed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Jean Louis and initialed by Monroe and director John Huston. One of Louis' best-known designs was sheer, sparkling gown Monroe wore when she sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to John F. Kennedy three months before her death in 1962. The drawing is in Very Fine to Excellent condition, and is mounted to a 12" x 18" sheet of cardboard.
