Description

The Beatles vs. The Four Seasons LP (Vee-Jay DX-30, 1964). The label had already lost its two star groups to other labels in 1964, but Vee-Jay wasn't done squeezing their residual value. Desperate means calls for innovative reissues; in this case, that entailed packaging reissues of Introducing the Beatles and Golden Hits of The Four Seasons into The International Battle of the Century: The Beatles vs. The Four Seasons. The problem was most of the record-buying public already had both albums, resulting in poor sales of this two-disc set and making this offering quite scarce. This copy's in spectacular condition, still in its original shrinkwrap, with discs unplayed. The wrap is broken at the record opening, but the original poster insert has never been taken out of the cover. Condition: NM 8 (cover)/ MT 9 (discs). From the Joe Pope Archive.
