Description

The Bee Gees, Procol Harum 1968 Hamburg, Germany Large Concert Poster. An original, large concert poster made on thick paper for the Bee Gees, with opening act Procol Harum, performing at the Stadhalle in Hamburg, Germany on Wednesday evening, February 28, 1968. A large and compelling poster in very rough condition.

At this point in their career, the brothers Gibb had enjoyed the hit singles "New York Mining Disaster 1941," "To Love Somebody," "Holiday," "(The Lights Went Out In) Massachusetts" and their current hit, "Words." Procol Harum had struck big the summer before with "A Whiter Shade of Pale."

Measures 33" x 46 3/4" and grades in Fair to Poor condition. Major issues include a 13 ½" tear from the bottom edge up into the poster, ending to the left of "Procol." The upper right area of the poster got severely crumpled, with damage everywhere - but not a lot of broken color. There is that white broken color in both the upper left and upper right general corner areas. Throughout the poster there is small tearing and crumpling to the edges. The verso is also battle-fatigued, with tape lifts, discoloring and blemishing throughout. Poster also has heavy toning throughout.
