Description

Blade Runner Betamax 1983 - CGC Home Video Box 8.0 and Seal A, Slipcase, LRB Seal, "Reel Deal" Manufacturer Sticker, Rear White Embassy Home Entertainment Sticker, Embassy Home Entertainment Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott and released in 1982, is a neo-noir science fiction film set in a dystopian future Los Angeles. The story follows a former police officer, Rick Deckard, who is tasked with hunting down and "retiring" genetically engineered beings known as replicants. These replicants are nearly indistinguishable from humans, and Deckard's moral and existential journey raises questions about the nature of humanity, identity, and empathy.
The film's groundbreaking visual effects and atmospheric cinematography set a new standard for sci-fi aesthetics, influencing countless films that followed. Its fusion of noir elements with cyberpunk themes also sparked a wave of futuristic urban settings in the genre. Blade Runner introduced a deeper, more philosophical dimension to science fiction storytelling, inspiring subsequent works to explore complex moral dilemmas and existential concepts within futuristic settings. Its enduring impact on sci-fi cinema is evident in the numerous homages, tributes, and spiritual successors that continue to captivate audiences to this day.
This 1983 Betamax copy of the film is the only factory sealed copy we've seen of this rare first release. It has rear white Embassy Home Entertainment watermarks and has received a grade of 8.0 by CGC Home Video, with a Seal grade of A.
