John Coltrane Large 1962 German Concert Poster by Gunther Kieser. A commanding Dusseldorf, West Germany concert poster from Friday, November 23, 1962 for saxophone great John Coltrane, designed by the legendary German poster designer Gunther Kieser.

Cool modern jazz was all the rage in 1962, and Kieser's design on this poster perfectly reflects that. Very abstract art and lettering, mostly in blacks and grays, but with a perfect splash of red singling out, "Norman Granz Presents Concert of Modern Jazz! John Coltrane & His Group." It's a very compelling design that would look stunning in a black frame. Measures 33" x 24" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

Condition details: Poster has just a bit of foxing spotting in the upper right corner. The edges are generally fine but just a little bit of wear in some places and possibly a couple of the tiniest possible tears. General toning throughout.
