UNIQUE SIGNED & INSCRIBED VICTOR MOSCOSO OUTTAKE

NR-6 Blues Project 1967 S.F. Neon Rose Rare "Test Print" Concert
Poster. A one-of-a-kind alternative print of famed S.F.
concert-poster artist Victor Moscoso's Neon Rose NR-6 concert
poster for Al Kooper's Blues Project playing at San Francisco's
Matrix nightclub on Monday-Thursday evenings, February 13-16, 1967.
Not only has Moscoso signed the front of this one-off printing in
pencil down at the bottom, he also wrote on the verso, "One of a
Kind - Moscoso!"There are generally two known versions of this poster: one with a negative image in pink, green and blue; and one with a positive image in orange, green and blue. This test print amounts to a third version... a positive image in pink and blue. "Victor stated these were never meant to be saved," the consignor tells Heritage. "This copy was likely rescued from the trash bin during the original print run." Measures 14 3/4" x 20" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
Literature: King, Eric, The Collector's Guide to Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters, Postcards and Handbills 1965-1973, Vol. 12, Berkeley, CA, 2022, p.803 (illus.).
More Information: Psychedelic concert-poster collectors, Victor Moscoso fans and art-rock aficionados are aware that Moscoso designed and printed this poster after the event.
Condition details: There's a stain in a pink stripe to the left of the woman's neck, and two other tiny ones in the blue to the left of that. The bigger stain is a show-through from where it occurred on the verso. There's a very soft poster-wide diagonal crease which starts in "Minor" on the left side and angles up across the woman's midsection and through "3138 Fi" on the right, lightly breaking the blue color on the far right after "Fi." Lower left corner has a half-inch diagonal crease which breaks the blue color, and a white tip there as well. There's a very small (1/8") ‘frame burn' around all four margins from when it was framed. And there's a slight horizontal surface crease under "Rose" in the lower left corner area.
