Grateful Dead 1968 "Direct from San Francisco" Norfolk, VA Concert Poster. An original white-paper concert-advertising poster for the Grateful Dead, "Direct from San Francisco," playing two shows at the Virginia Beach Civic Center in Norfolk, Virginia on Sunday, May 12, 1968. Wild Kingdom was the opening act, and a psychedelic light show was promised. The Dead were building a national following and played before 3,500 people on this occasion. More Information: There is general toning to both sides from age. There are also a couple of very minor blemishes to the white paper, such as on the poster's upper edge off to the right, and just to the upper left of Phil Lesh's face.
