Description
The Beatles Ringo Starr Olympia Stadium Stage Played Drumsticks Plus Photos & Ticket Stub (August 13th, 1966). The Beatles played two shows at Olympia stadium as part of their final North American tour. The shows were at 2 PM and 7 PM and drew a total of 28,000 fans. We are so excited to be able to offer this rare one of a kind lot. 1) A pair of stage used drumsticks from the Beatles drummer. Measuring approx: 15 1/2" with writing: arbiter "Ringo Starr" model. In overall Very Good to Very Good Plus condition; 2) Ticket stub measuring approx: 1 1/2" by 2 1/4" in overall Very Good Plus condition; 3) Three black and white photos of the consigners son at Ringo's kit, photo's of security and image of the Beatles in performance. Measuring approx: 5" by 7". Also included a wonderful letter describing the back story."My father owned a security company that had the contract for the August 13th show, to be security for the Beatles. He stayed close to them during the two shows they performed that day. I was able to go onstage in between the shows and take photos with the drums.
My father had collected drumsticks from various groups he had worked with, and he asked Ringo to have his sticks after the shows. My father walked them from the dressing room to the stage, stayed behind him for the entirety of the shows, and at the end of the performances, Ringo handed them over to my father."
Wow! These drum sticks drove the back beat to an entire Beatles set live. Be sure and add these pieces of live Beatles history to the collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
