Description
James Hong "Lo Pan" glowing articulating FX arm from Big Trouble in Little China. (TCF, 1986) This mechanical 32 in. long FX prop arm was created by Boss Films' creature shop for the dramatic sequence in Big Trouble in Little China when the ancient and grizzled "Lo Pan" (James Hong) transforms into a powerful young wizard. The arm and hand prop consist of silicone skin over mechanical armature with cables, aluminum grips and pulls used to manipulate the hand up and down at the wrist and to make fingers flex. The silicone skin is tinted realistically, maintaining translucence to allow for an internal light source to shine through and illuminate the prop. Long, false acrylic fingernails attached. The arm is dressed in shirt and jacket sleeve to match the character and permanently mounted to a wood and pipe 12 x 21 in. base. Articulating mechanisms are present and functional. Some electronics present but untested. The piece remains in vintage, very good condition. Special shipping arrangements will apply.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection. Condition statements are offered as general guidance only, not as complete representations of fact, and do not constitute a warranty or assumption of liability by Heritage. Some condition issues may not be noted but may be visible in the photos, which are considered part of the condition report.
