Morphing FX bust from Starman. (Columbia, 1984) Vintage original 20 x 15 x 8.5 in. plaster FX head and shoulders bust expertly studio painted to appear as an elongated human face. The bust was used in the special FX sequence when Starman (Jeff Bridges) morphs from an infant to an adult. As CGI techniques of the era were not as advanced, the sequence was accomplished using multiple busts in different stages of transformation shot in stop-motion. The number "53" and "53A" is handwritten on top of head that is not painted. Opening at back of head. Writing on unpainted reverse side of bust reads "53/I". In vintage very good condition.
