"Metaluna Mutant" head casting from This Island Earth. (Universal Intl' Pictures, 1955) The "Metaluna Mutant", a crustacean-like alien with prominent exterior brain is one of the most iconic aliens ever born of Bud Westmore's legendary makeup department at Universal Pictures. Consisting of a 21 x 16 x 16 in., hollow-cast, resin with polyfoam hollow core bust pulled from the original molds used to create the mask for the 1955 alien in This Island Earth. With incredible sculptural detail, unpainted and with openings where the eye lenses would be placed. In fine condition.
