Mitchell reflexed BNC #118 35mm movie camera with lens & tripod. (ca. 1940s) Vintage original Mitchell BNC (Blimped Newsreel Camera), serial number 118, designed to run quietly for production sound-shooting. George Mitchell designed the NC (Newsreel Cameras) in 1933 in anticipation of sound movies becoming a hit. They made the first soundproofed BNC in 1934. This camera started its life as a Mitchell BNC and was later converted to a reflexed camera with a CSC unit. A legendary camera, the Mitchell BNC influenced filmmaking right up to present day. Includes a Heinz Kilfitt lens and Camera Equipment Co. tripod. Camera is cosmetically in fine condition (mechanicals untested).
