Pacific Rim (Warner Bros., 2013), Production Maquette of Kaiju "Meathead". Production made maquette of "Meathead", one of the massive, amphibious Kaiju beasts designed for the film by Simon Lee and Guy Davis. Crafted of cast resin, this Kaiju has two curved horns on its head, four legs and a tail with three pincers at the end. Expertly painted by production artists in hues of green, red, and black. The Kaiju's mouth is wired to glow with blue LED lights (powered by 4- AA batteries) and is operational. Ultimately, this Kaiju did not appear in the film, yet it is featured on the cover of the graphic novel Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero by Travis Beachum, and in the book Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters by David S. Cohen. Maquette stands 16.75" x 21.5" x 15" and is mounted on a 20" x 14" x 2.5" wooden base. Exhibits light wear to paint finish. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.

"Simon Lee (aka 'Spiderzero'), has collaborated with me in several projects, including Pacific Rim. He has the flair and fluidity of a master - and this maquette shows one of my favorite Kaijus. We had to let it go because of (what else?) Budget. But this is the perfect fusion between Guy Davis and Simon!" From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
