Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Universal, 2008), Raven Guard Screen Used Fighting Helmet & Silicone Torso Ensemble. Worn by the elite personal guards of Elven King Balor (Roy Dotrice). Also known as Butcher Guards, these warriors are seen engaging in battle against Prince Nuada (Luke Goss) after the king condemns his son to death-a conflict that ultimately leads to Balor's demise. The Raven Guard ensemble consists of a striking beak-shaped helmet crafted from resin panels molded to resemble carved wood. Designed for combat sequences, the helmet's resin panels are built on top of flexible material to absorb violent blows. Attached to the helmet is hair in two ponytails mounted at the rear and two attached leather dreadlocks with intertwined resin animal bones. Beneath the helmet is a padded leather yoke collar and .25"-thick silicone skin torso detailed in ashen hues adorned with tribal tattoos, a pair of leather arm gauntlets featuring concealed Velcro hand straps, leather abdominal armor, beneath which a rectangular foam rubber panel molded to appear like wood is attached with resin animal skulls hanging below. Exhibits production wear including evidence of studio repair on helmet with missing animal skull on the front lower panel. The ensemble is mounted on a steel stand and measures 69" x 30" x 25", and rests on a 30" x 25" wooden base. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.

"Physical violence was needed in the Court Room fight scene with Prince Nuada. I wanted real wire gags and real contact with the Guards. To that end, we generated some pre-damaged silicone doubles that worked beautifully." From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
