Jackie Gleason Personal Golf Bag and Drinking Goblets (ca.1970s). Vintage original pair of items from Jackie Gleason's personal collection including (1) white faux leather golf bag with "Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic" insignia to both sides in burgundy, with burgundy piping, 2- short handles, top zipper closure, and brass balancing studs to bottom, measuring 24" x 15.5", and (1) set of 6- silver-toned drinking goblets, housed in a custom-made wooden carrying/storage case with engraved writing, "The Great One" and a figure of a golf player to the top, measuring 21" x 7.5" x 4". Golf bag exhibiting expected age and wear from personal use with goblets relatively unused. Jackie Gleason was an actor, comedian, writer, and performer best known for his long-running sketch program The Jackie Gleason Show (1949-1959; 1966-1970), as well as its spin-off, The Honeymooners (CBS TV, 1955-1956) and decades of public performances. He was also an avid golfer who was known to have golfed with Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, and created his own professional golf tournament, the Inverrary Classic, that became a circuit tournament of the PGA in the 1970s.
