Vintage original pair of Earl Benham suits from Jackie Gleason's personal wardrobe including (1) light gray wool suit with brass single-button closure, jetted pockets and notch lapels, retaining internal maker's label typed, "J. Gleason "Apr. 1963", with matching flat-front suit pants with zipper and hook and eye closure and retaining internal maker's label typed, "J. Gleason" "Apr. 1963", and (1) navy blue wool suit with single-button closure, jetted pockets and notch lapels, retaining internal maker's label typed, "J. Gleason" "March 1965", accompanied by a pair of dark blue wool flat-front suit pants with zipper and hook and eye closure, retaining internal maker's label typed, "Jackie Gleason" "Feb. 1956". Jackie Gleason was best known for his work on the sketch-comedy program The Jackie Gleason Show, as well as its spin-off The Honeymooners. In the 1950s and '60s, Gleason enjoyed a notable music career and received widespread recognition for his multi-faceted work including a nomination for an Academy Award, three Golden Globes, and one Primetime Emmy.
