The Honeymooners (CBS TV, 1955-1956), Audrey Meadows "Alice Kramden" Replica Red Dress with Custom Display Mannequin. Vintage original red cotton short-sleeved ankle-length daytime dress modeled after the signature dress worn by Alice Kramden (Audrey Meadows) during the "Classic 39" episodes of the Jackie Gleason series The Honeymooners, featuring zipper and fabric-covered button front, fold over collar, and 2- hip pockets, with red and white candy-striped trim at the arm-openings, hip pockets, and collar, with pleated waistline and red waist belt, and retaining internal Pat Perkins maker's label. Pat Perkins was the pseudonym of Mac Kaplan, the clothier of Sunnyvale Inc., who made daytime dresses that were worn by Kramden in the original run of the series. The show lists "Daytime Dresses by Pat Perkins" prominently during the credits, which the designer negotiated in exchange for donating the dresses to the show for free. Alice Kramden was the hard-nosed, no-nonsense wife of Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason), and became a beloved and well-remembered figure of 1950s television. Dress exhibiting toning due to age however retains strong color overall. Lot is accompanied by a pair of red high-heel shoes, wristwatch, faux peal necklace and earrings, purple charm bracelet, and a pair of tights for display purposes. Additionally, Stewart took great pride in displaying his collection and had many custom-built mannequins in the likeness of the character made for his costumes. This lot includes one of those mannequins, which is in used and well-loved condition and will require special shipping. The option is yours if you would like to receive the mannequin. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From The Stewart Berkowitz Television Treasures Collection.
